VISITORS

Stroll, Graze, Buy and Play at over 100 makers and street food stalls, along with live acoustic music plus a fantastic kids playground. Set around a walking track at the picturesque Bicentennial Park in Chelsea, it is held on the 4th Saturday of the month during the market season.

Market Highlights

  • The market is held on the Last Saturday of the month from October to April (excluding December).
  • Over 100+ street food & makers stalls set around a beautiful walking track.
  • Our Makers Aisles consist of Artists, Take Home Alcohol, Dog Products, Fashion, Homewares, Pantry Items, Jewellery, Kids clothing and Products, plus Personal Care Items. We have a Kids Facepainter and Two Coffee Trucks.
  • A large street food and drink aisle catering for all dietary types is in front of Chill Hill, where you can relax on the grass in between the trees.
  • We have live acoustic music in front of Chill Hill.
  • The market is next door to one of Victoria's best kid's playgrounds and there is also a skatepark, basketball court, gym equipment, and picnic areas. Plus, it hosts the popular Park Run on the Saturday mornings of the market.

I adore markets. They're a great way to see all the wonderful things made locally and by smaller businesses. Chelsea market has a plethora of stalls ranging from flowers through to botanical alcohol. There are plenty of food trucks, I highly recommend the real jerk food truck. And it's always a bonus when the prosecco van is there. If you ever need to get a personal, unique gift, I'd head to this market. Deffo family and dog friendly.

This market is very unique and it has wide variety of stalls that are not available in many other places. Its really one of the best in Melbourne. Family, Kids and pets friendlyHighly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

What a fabulous find this market was! Literally used Google to find a meeting spot and activity to do during the restrictions of Covid and it turned out to be a fantastic day out and discovery. Lunch was a hit (we shared from two stalls) and purchased many treasures from several of the creators.Free parking AND entry was an unexpected surprise. The layout was easy to walk around and listening to live music whilst we dined on lunch was a delight.Will definitely visit again.

Improvements underway at Bicentennial Park Project Update: Following significant delays due to wet weather, the project is all systems go to build the Bicentennial Skate Park youth precinct. The much awaited skate park is expected to be completed late April 2017 and will provide improved skate park facilities, a new youth precinct and multi-court area. Bicentennial Park is a much-loved community asset and Council was proud to be making further improvements to the popular park. The $1.4 million makeover offers some great improvements for park users of all ages, with a particular focus on providing positive, safe activities for our local youth. The project includes: New skate park New youth plaza area featuring a multi-court area, timber climbing poles and a DJ table Retention of the existing Rotary stage area Additional park seating and shelters. The improvements come on top of works at the park which included the installation of shades sails over the skate park area plus construction of improved pathways in the park. improved lighting to increase public safety. The project has been funded by Kingston Council with support from the Victorian Government through the Department of Justice ($130,000) and the Department of Human Services ($90,000). The Contract was awarded to Naturform to perform the works
