Bicentennial Park

Improvements underway at Bicentennial Park Project Update: Following significant delays due to wet weather, the project is all systems go to build the Bicentennial Skate Park youth precinct. The much awaited skate park is expected to be completed late April 2017 and will provide improved skate park facilities, a new youth precinct and multi-court area. Bicentennial Park is a much-loved community asset and Council was proud to be making further improvements to the popular park. The $1.4 million makeover offers some great improvements for park users of all ages, with a particular focus on providing positive, safe activities for our local youth. The project includes: New skate park New youth plaza area featuring a multi-court area, timber climbing poles and a DJ table Retention of the existing Rotary stage area Additional park seating and shelters. The improvements come on top of works at the park which included the installation of shades sails over the skate park area plus construction of improved pathways in the park. improved lighting to increase public safety. The project has been funded by Kingston Council with support from the Victorian Government through the Department of Justice ($130,000) and the Department of Human Services ($90,000).
