Point Nepean

This lovely coastal market is located around the historic quarantine buildings and features grass lawns, meandering roadways, and pavilions. Roadways become 'walkways' with no traffic during market hours. Surfaces are a mix of gravel, bitumen, and grass, with undulating terrain in places. Please use caution when walking, especially with prams or wheelchairs.

DOGS: Please note that dogs are not allowed in the National Park, and fines may be issued by Parks Victoria. Service dogs with proper identification are exempt.

PARKING: The go-to spot is the Jarman Oval ($5 fee), which is supervised by CMA with assistance from the Mornington Football and Netball Clubs. A small surcharge applies for electronic payment.

The history of Point Nepean spans back thousands of years to the Bunurong people and it has also played an important role in shaping the early European settlement and defence of Australia, being used to quarantine people arriving in Victoria, defending the colony and for military training.
