Meet Elfred’s: Culinary Artisan of the Mornington Peninsula
Elfred’s is a European chef who has been living and working on the Mornington Peninsula for the last 18 years. He has cooked in various restaurants, hotels, and catering establishments from Portsea to Melbourne and all over Australia. Michele is an art teacher who has swapped her paintbrushes and palette for a different form of art. Michele's flair helps build the Elfreds foundation of color and vibrancy.
Passion for Local Produce
We are keen to promote local produce and are proud to be a part of the Mornington Peninsula wine and culinary region of Australia. Our products, which include a range of jams, chutneys, relishes, salsas, oils, sauces, spices, preserves, and pickles, are recipes that have been gathered over the last 28 years of working as a chef in various parts of the world.

If you are a fan of local produce, the abundance of produce grown on the Mornington Peninsula, Elfreds could not be situated in a better place with all this lovely produce on our doorstep. From cherries, apples, and quinces from Red Hill, to rhubarb from Boneo, strawberries, a great variety of grapes, and stone fruits are just some things that inspire our taste buds.
- Some of our products have more of an international flavour collected from our travels. BBQ Sauce from the USA, Pickled Onions, Pickled Eggs, and Piccalilli, all traditional English Recipes. Mumbai Chutney and Mango Relish from India, and a fiery Salsa from Mexico.
- As well as being trained as a classical French chef, Elfred has visited Mexico several times over the last ten years, enhancing his knowledge of Mexican Cuisine.
- He has been running a Mexican Cantina at Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Arts—the biggest festival of its kind in Europe—for the past 12 years. In 2000, Elfred’s was voted the Best Food Stall at Glastonbury out of over 200 food outlets.
Expertise in Culinary Presentation
Whilst living in London, Elfred worked as a pastry chef for the Admirable Crichton—one of the best catering companies in Europe. Here he learned the art of food presentation under the guidance of a catering genius.
